'Annals of the Life & Reign of K. Charles I' written by Wordsworth on the front and back. The notes cover the years 1600-1621.

Cover formed of two printed letters (cut to size) both signed by Wordsworth, dated 26 Jul. 1823 and 29 Sept. 1823 and relating to the building of the 'New Quadrangle' [now New Court]. One letter gives the forthcoming date of the laying of the first stone as 12 Aug., 'the King's Birthday'; the other contains information about the project. Both are backed with lists of subscribers.

Downing Street. - Supports Milnes' application for an increase in Pontefract schoomaster's allowance, but hesitates to refer request to the Prince Regent at present as Duchy property represents the King's private estate rather than public revenue; will make recommendation in the event of the King's recovery, or at a later date if the Regency is extended.
