Fox; 7 M. Beauchamp; Stroke S. P. Smith; Cox W. Wickham. An older man at back may be W. Adams, boatman. Men identified in a later (archivist's) hand. Photograph titled '1st Boat, May 1882.' At left is a narrative of the race and a mention that the same crew went to Henley with Hardman in the no. 4 seat, but did not win.
