Scarboro[ugh]. - Asks Milnes to thank his father for the invitation, which he hopes to accept, 'at least for some part of the week beginning 12th Jan.'; has to return to Cambridge for a while and will write from there. Also asks Milnes to 'receive the long pent-up stream of my congratulations' [on his marriage].
Bishopsthorpe, York. - He and his wife congratulate Milnes on his marriage; would have done so earlier, but did not know where to send the message. They are sorry not to be able to accept Mr [Robert Pemberton] Milnes' invitation to Fryston, as they will have friends visiting, but hope to be able to make Mrs Milnes' acquaintance soon. Signed 'T.
