Doncaster. - Amount due to Doncaster Subscription News Room from the late Robert Pemberton Milnes; hopes Milnes will continue to subscribe. Postscript: deficit arose as R. P. Milnes usually paid subscription in person.
Admiralty. - Acknowledges information on age of Samuel Naylor, who cannot be appointed to the school until he is ten and must then take turn after other nominees on Mr [Henry Lowry-?] Corry's list.
Pontefract. - Seeking donations towards a library for the newly-formed Young Men's Christian Institution; they already have £4 and 13 books; proposed classes.

Brotherton, Milford Junction. - Mr Atkinson is persecuted at Ferrybridge on account of past speculation with borrowed money but is 'clever and active in his profession'; recommends him for position at Wakefield Institution; his charity despite personal poverty.
