Accompanied by a torn broadside advertising Adam de Friedel's The Greeks, twenty-four portraits of the principal Leaders and personages who have made themselves most conspicuous in the Greek Revolution, from the commencement of the struggle (published 1830) which served as a folder for part of the MSS.

Bound volume of extracts of William Whewell's letters to his family dating from 1812-1839, with the bulk of the material dated 1812-1821. The extracts are written in an unidentified hand and quote letters to his father John Whewell, aunt Alice Lyon, and sisters Elizabeth, Martha, and Ann Whewell. Accompanied by a poem signed W. W., written on his engagement to Cordelia Marshall.

Letters of William Whewell to Hugh James Rose

A bound volume of 42 letters which have been catalogued separately in item records attached to this catalogue record. A letter from H. A. Rose to Mr Jackson dated 28 May 1917 is tipped in the front of the volume, accompanied by a printed flysheet headed "Utopia University, 1816", a parody of an examination paper sent to Whewell in 1816, also tipped in. At the front of the volume is a lithograph of Whewell by E. U. Eddis, 1835.
