Scope and content

Life & Letters, 21 Hill Street, Mayfair, London, W.1. - Delighted with the "Epistola ad D. M." [Trevelyan's "To Desmond MacCarthy"]; has read it several times, including aloud; his thoughts on quantity and metre in English writing. Also read Robert Bridge's poem ["The Testament of Beauty"] and found the rhythm extremely difficult; is not sure he agrees with Trevelyan about the philosophical part at the end as he found much of that very interesting. Is glad Bessie thought his 'address on the Censorship' all right.
