The Royal Society of Literature, 2 Bloomsbury Square , London, W.C.1. - Thanks Trevelyan for "From the Shiffolds"; when she told him 'not to forget "our" Christmas card', she meant the Society's library not for herself. Now she is 'transgressing' her own rules about rejecting 'perquisites' connected with her position [as Secretary] since '[n]othing will induce' her to give her copy, with Trevelyan's inscription, to the Library or anyone else. Mentions poems she likes; '"Birds of the Air" needed saying'. Quotes [James Elroy] Flecker's "Hassan" on coincidence, as when Trevelyan read "Spectacles" she remembered a 'recent ridiculous occurrence'. Her friend Joseph Bard is a fellow of the Society, and when they lunched recently at the Café Royal he noticed Mrs A. P. Herbert whom he said was sitting next to the 'bespectacled man', but Rudston Brown heard this as 'respectable'.
