Scope and content

8, Grosvenor Crescent, S.W. - Unfortunate about the 24th: Caroline very much wanted to go to Penmoyle [sic: Pen Moel] over the Sunday and they would both have found it a relief if Robert could have come to stay with Sir George. Thinks he should 'give up a single performance [of Wagner's Götterdämmerung, see 46/63]' to come earlier; they do not often 'have the pleasure' of asking him to do something to help them.
