Belks Buildings, Pontefract. - Repeats his request for Milnes to obtain permission for him and 'others from the Duchy of Lancaster to make use of the Peat in the Pontefract Estate... for the purpose of being Carbonized...' Has done all he can to 'ascertain as far as possible the merits of the Patents, & to determine the most prudent & economical mode of testing the same'. Points out the benefit to the country if the procedure is successful, '& particularly to Ireland'.
