Heathercliffe, Goodeve Road, Sneyd Park, Bristol.—The air-raid on Bristol was ‘definitely of the Coventry type so far as the results were concerned’, though it was carried out with incendiary bombs rather than high-explosive ones. The use of this type of raid proves that the Germans were aware of the weak spots of Bristol ARP. The brigades were unable to prevent the fires from spreading, owing to a lack of water.
