Scope and content

Northlands, Englefield Green. - Asks whether Donald [Tovey] is indeed coming to stay with the Trevelyans on the 29th for five or six weeks; if he leaves for Spain before she returns from Nauheim she will have to get his clothes for that journey ready; needs notice as she is very busy, but if the opera ["The Bride of Dionysus"] could get finished it would be worth it. Is 'engaged in a most embarrassing correspondence with Mr Hilary Belloc [sic]', whom she does not know and wrote to her 'in pure despair' as Donald had not answered his letters. Asks if the Trevelyans know him, and whether they could invite him over to see Donald. Belloc has a plan 'he thinks will be lucrative for Donald' which she agrees should be carried out. Is ashamed that Donald is to 'quarter himself' on the Trevelyans for all this time; asks if he could contribute towards his expenses.
