Scope and content

Northlands, Englefield Green, Surrey. - Apologises for not thanking Bessie sooner for her good care of Donald [Tovey], who 'seems to have a most prosperous and successful time'. As soon as she knew he was all right she 'did very well indeed at Nauheim' though she is now suffering on her return. Insists on sending the payment for Donald's washing bills, and tells Bessie that the Trevelyans must not pay for a stay at the Wheatsheaf again. Act III [of "The Bride of Dionysus"] is 'most beautiful and noble and touching'.
