Scope and content

Comment by John Wordsworth on p. 1. - 'Notes on letters from, to or relating to Bentley, which have never been published, or are not contained in Friedemann's edition. Mem. to copy unprinted letters on separate sheets of letter paper and to write notes on those contained in Friedemann's edition in my interleaved copy of that edit. In collating letters with the originals use the Museum Criticum, and the Life of Bentley, for all the letters that the Bishop of Gloucester has published from the originals or collated with them - and Burley's edit. for those that he has not, and mark the variations of those books, not in Friedemann's Edit...'

Pages at the end of the book later by Christopher Wordsworth, for such things as draft letters (some dated at Harrow, Apr. 1843), biblical commentary and so on.
