A letter from W. W. Rouse Ball to the Master of Trinity [J. J. Thomson], dated Apr. 1921, found at the beginning of the book, originally accompanied 'Wordsworth's three red books which are kept in the Lodge'; says he can 'add the accompanying MS and notes which relate to them', given to him by 'Wordsworth of Salisbury', Christopher Wordsworth the Master's grandson. The date of the transfer of these volumes to the Library is uncertain.
