The leaves were written on the recto sides in one direction and then turned over and written on the recto sides in the other direction. The recto sides of the leaves in the first direction, and the recto of the free endpaper at the back, are numbered i, 1–60; the recto sides of leaves in the other direction are numbered I–LX.
