Three labels on front: 'Rabbits Nos 1-27 inclus.', 'and on pages following 37 Notes on ?Matings', 'Breeding Schemes etc in connection with all the rabbits'.
Notes on each individual rabbit (with tab cut to make finding records easy) recording where bought/ancestry, dates of matings, and size of resulting litter. Sex of offspring usually recorded as well as the colour and markings; a stamp is soon introduced to indicate these. f 85r is a 'List of Specimen Skins'; this is usually noted in the individual rabbit's entry as well.
First few rabbits are given names: William the Silent; Anne of Flanders; Philippa of Hainault; Alfred the Great; Boadicea; Witch of Endor; Blue Pill; Dowager Empress, their offspring are identified only by numbers and by their parents.
