Scope and content
Postmarked Englefield Green. - Gives his current version of Theseus's third objection [to Ariadne's plan in Act II of "The Bride of Dionysus"]; likes its rhythm, and makes him 'less of a wet-blanket', showing that 'his solicitude for Ariadne combines with a growing interest in her scheme'; this also gets rid of the difficulty mentioned in his last postcard [7/123]. This card is 'No. 3 of today's issue'. Will make the captives hiss at the mention of Daedalus at the end of Act I, to show that he is 'under a very dark cloud'.
