Scope and content

Printed letter to Members of the Senate concerning a trial in which a student was brought before the Vice-Chancellor and Heads of Colleges because he had been found 'in a house of ill fame' committing 'the sin of fornication'. Clayton (senior Tutor in the University) feels that the punishment was too lenient and set a bad moral example to the rest of the country and world at a time of 'great social evil'.
