History
William Simpson was born at Chelsea on 23 June 1769, the son of John Simpson and his wife Lydia, née Branch, and he married Katharine Palgrave on 26 April 1805. On 21 November 1826 he was elected town clerk and clerk of the peace for Norwich, in place of Elisha De Hague, who had died on the 11th. Simpson died at Norwich on 5 December 1834.
