Scope and content

A book of signatures of judges and their marshals with the date of their stay during the Assizes. This is accompanied by fourteen thank you letters written to the Master, R. A. Butler by judges and other officials invited to a dinner at Trinity on 28 November 1971 which was held to mark the occasion of the last Assize Court. Several letters contain comments about the end of the Assize Court system, including those from Francis Pemberton and Maurice Robinson.
