Scope and content
Hertford - WW is travelling over countryside he once traversed with RJ: 'I thought I could spare a day to retouch my recollections of the places we visited together'. WW has found two passages in his preface to James Mackintosh's Dissertation, which might have induced RJ to 'make out a parallel between the moral sense, as it has been called, and the physical senses'. He then explains why there is not a problem even in these two cases.
