The printed text begins with an introduction in Latin, purporting to explain that the following text is a fragment of Athenaeus which includes a part of an idyll by Theocritus, 'Athenaei fragmentum habes...'; however, the references to 'Granta' and 'Cam' point to its contemporary origin, inspired by the decision to allow women to take Cambridge University exams. With a couple of MS corrections. This appears in a scrapbook created by J. W. Clark, now in Cambridge University Library, as the work of Richard Shilleto, 16 Dec. 1865 (CUL Cam.a.500.9.86).
The MS Latin verse on the back, entitled 'Novus Professor cui bono?', is accompanied by an English verse translation, and ends with the lines 'Esto Professor carus editor Cari / Carus Sabrinae, carior suae Grantae'. This also appears as Shilleto's work in Clark's scrapbook (CUL Cam.a.500.9.114a).
