The contents of this volume were probably assembled by Lord Houghton while he was preparing his biography of the Berry sisters, published in Monographs, Personal and Social in 1873. Some of the items are numbered in the top left-hand corner in pencil. Binder’s stamp of J. Leighton, Brewer St. The heraldic ‘garb’ of Robert, Earl of Crewe, is stamped on the front cover.
