New York - CSH encloses an American edition of WW's sermons [William Whewell On the Foundations of Morals with Additional Discourses and Essays, 1839]: 'I understand you are about accomplishing the purpose announced in your preface of giving a more systematic work. I shall rejoice to see it. We need every sort of influence in this country to counteract the prevailing utilitarian views. I hope you will do me the honor of sending me a copy as soon as published'.
