Scope and content

Asks her to pass on his 'absurdly small contribution' of two shillings and six pence to the secretary of the Sidgwick Memorial Fund, whose address he left in Newcastle. Refers to the work Henry Sidgwick has done for Newnham, and recalls an afternoon spent in 'Mrs Sidgwick's drawing-room', where he and other students 'listened [and laughed] while [Henry] talked', and claims that it was a kind of ' "liberal education" '.
