Thanks her for the letters she sent to him. States that he has put off writing until he should have finished the memoir [Henry Sidgwick: a Memoir], but is only half way through, due to time pressure. Remarks that seldom has he come across 'a more vivid and truthful picture of a mind....' Undertakes to write again when he has finished it. Reports that his mother is well, and that he has taken a house for her for the summer in the country 'among the first Dolomites', not far from him in Venice.
