‘Begun 1801—John Arden’ is written at the head of f. 1r, and the word ‘Omniana’, perhaps a former title, is written inside the front cover. The armorial bookplate of Robert, Earl of Crewe, is pasted inside the back cover. The number ‘155’, perhaps part of a shelf-mark, is pasted to the spine.

The newspapers from which the cuttings were taken include The Star, the Manchester Mercury, the York Courant, the Chester Courant, and the Manchester Express.
