Scope and content
The Park, Prestwich, Manchester. - Her journey went well; she and Annie had a quiet evening 'gossiping'; Annie is delighted by the success of the Liberal candidates for Radcliffe and Prestwich and went 'to hear the poll declared at Prestwich yesterday morning'. Hopes Elizabeth will not mind spending the day alone, but is sure 'the violin will be a good companion'. Thinks she has made the house very pretty and comfortable; hopes she will 'feel better & have good nights again'; does not think she should worry about her health and advises her to take Mr McKenzie's advice for a while. Annie sends love and thinks it 'charming' for Elizabeth to go to Vienna.
