Welcombe, Stratford on Avon. - Thanks Elizabeth for telling her about Julian's dream; he already has 'a much pleasanter idea of religion than some people ever get'. Interested to hear that Robert has been reading him Bible stories; Julian has 'a very exact little mind' and will probably 'bring out some rather startling inferences'. Hopes Elizabeth gets home comfortably today and that her troubles will be over, though does not think she can be sure [that Julian has escaped infection] until Monday. Is still very sore, but recovering [from her shingles]. Sir George has gone out to see the Regiment pass, since it is leaving Stratford today; everyone is sorry, as they are 'so very well behaved and respectable'; quite a remarkable change in the army.
