Scope and content
Welcombe, Stratford on Avon. - Delighted to keep Julian and Miss B[arthorp] till Thursday; Julian is looking very well, and they take long walks; Miss Barthorp is 'very pleasant'. They play a game before bedtime; last night he played backgammon with Sir George. Is fairly well, and hopes her 'malady' will not return. Glad to hear Elizabeth's health is satisfactory, but the attack must have been serious; hopes she avoids another.
