Bedford Street, Bedford Row, Bloomsbury. - Is a poor gentleman who has spent more than forty years as a tutor; is now nearly sixty; had a small school about eleven years ago but had to give it up owing to illness, debt and competition; now suffering extreme hardship; seeks 'remunerative occupation of a quiescent & intellectual nature' such as transcription or translation until a teaching post can be found. Appends list of referees: Revs. Dr Jephson, Dr Turner of Chiswick, John Bickerdike and Joseph Dawson.
