Scope and content

West Hackhurst,, Abinger Hammer, Dorking. - Thanks Trevelyan for the belt; asks if he could send one more with the socks and "The King & Queen". If he and his mother are dining near Trevelyan, they may visit so that his mother can 'see the rest of the loot' [brought back by Trevelyan from the East'. She is suffering from rheumatism so plans are difficult to make: they are unlikely to be able to go to the Chelsea Flower Show. Asks if Max Müller's "Science of Language" is worth reading.
