On printed notepaper: Fairman & Co., Palazzo Orlandini, 2 Via dei Buoni, Florence. - Houghton's kind acknowledgment from Pisa last year of his Treatise [on the Petroleum Zones of Italy]; has concessions on nearly 22, 000 acres of land but no money to proceed; frustrations of earlier schemes in Egypt; requires Houghton's support; discussed him with Mr Lorrimer Graham [sic: James Lorimer Graham?] of New York; sends copy of English newspaper he has started [no longer present].
