The Reform Club
April 24th 1912
12 15. A.M
My dearest Venetia
You must I fear think me most awfully careless of delightful suggestions.
I came into the Reform Club which I left this morning at 10·30 at 12 tonight to find your telephone message of this morning. The addlepates who wrote it down must have realised it referred to today and never telephoned down.
As a matter of fact it would have been very difficult to come as my bill was expected to be reached at 6 (it wasnt reached till 7·30).
Will you show how forgiving you are of rudeness which was at least unintentional and let me come tomorrow Thursday at 6.
I go to my constituency on Friday for the night.
Would you ask your man to telephone to the London Office.
Yrs
Edwin S. Montagu
