The Shiffolds, Holmbury St Mary, Dorking. - Is glad Aunt Annie is staying with Caroline for a while; she will 'enjoy the walks in the country, now the weather is so fine'. Julian's cold is 'much better', but he has recently looked 'a little pulled down', so she is taking him to Littlehampton for a long weekend on Saturday; if the weather is at all fine they can 'get a good deal of sea air' which will do them both good; they will stay in the same lodgings Bessie has taken before. Miss Geyl [perhaps Julian's governess?] will be in London during those days. After that Bessie will have to organise getting their 'passports etc' [for a trip to the Netherlands?]; hopes to go to London on the 10th about this, and will take Julian up later.
Discusses a parcel in the 'strongroom in Welcombe' containing silver candlesticks which she would like to have sent to 14 Great College St [Charles and Mary's house]; thinks it might be the only one of theirs now there; hopes she is not causing too much trouble. It is 'such brilliant sunshine today' that Julian has had his Dutch and French lessons outside; he is still 'very anxious to learn the piano, & really takes pains'.
