Scope and content

[on headed notepaper for 40 Ennismore Gardens]. Thanks his mother for her letter is 'glad it is a nice place, and that there are plenty of tables, and that parliament will break up soon'. Is very well and happy, and hopes his family are too. Asks which train he will be going by; supposes it is the 'usual one to Waterloo'. Does not think he has 'much chance of a prize'. Would be 'fun to see the meeting'. His school 'licked Cameron to pot' and 'doubled them'; they play Farnborough tomorrow. He got a burnet moth caterpillar yesterday. The whole school is being photographed on Wednesday; he will get one; it will cost three shillings and sixpence.
