Scope and content

Wallington, Cambo, Northumberland. - Glad that the five hundred pounds was useful; will pay the other five hundred whenever it is needed [for Robert and Elizabeth's new house]. The weather continues to be beautiful; cannot remember a 'more enjoyable year'. Poor old Mrs Thompson at Harwood has fallen downstairs and broken her leg and wrist; Sir George and Caroline went to visit her; she was comfortable and 'full of the pleasure' which Elizabeth's music had given her.
