      Jan 18th 1916

      My darling

We’ve had a very delicious day here, glorious sun the whole time. Done nothing but have a bonfire with all the children which lasted from 11 to 4 with short intervals.

Mother is lunching at Queen A’s Gate so will you tell her we shall be 3.

I wish you’d been here it would have been perfect.

      Much love
      Venetia
