      TRANSCRIPT:

      Penrhôs, Holyhead
      Aug 24th 1916

My darling would you like me to come to Coventry or should I be rather in the way? If you think I shouldnt would you send me a telegram telling me where and at what time I could meet you. Is Reggie going, or rather gone with you, you give me such very skimpy details of why you go!

But I sympathise with you about Viola I think she’s a fearful bore with the P.M and not only when he’s there but about him when he isnt. I hope Neil will be a success I’m afraid Geoffrey will be annoyed with you and say it wont be popular in the House, not that I think it matters as he is always wrong. I was rather cheered by your letter this morning and the hopes you hold out of Uist. I do look forward to that more than anything. I suppose you’ve not heard anything more about your journey to France with Ll G.

Its poured again most of to-day tho’ we did manage to bathe in the morning and now again its stopped for an instant (6 PM) and we are going to play tennis.

Let me know as soon as you can Coventry details I should have to leave here before the 12 train if I came. I should love to come but dont hesitate to say what you honestly think about it.

      Much much love
      V.
