TRANSCRIPT:
24 Queen Anne’s Gate, S.W.
Darling how very very sweet of you. Its too lovely and divine of you to think of it, but wouldnt you rather give me something which you know we’d both have fun out of. Such as yellow china which you thought wd be fun for lunch (do you remember the shop in Beauchamp Place where you saw it,) or something to replace the mugs you dont like in the dining room. I only suggest it as I think the green too lovely and adore it. Its the coolest thing I’ve ever seen.
Now wd you mind if I was to be out every day from 1- to 8 for 3 or 4 weeks. Not Whitsuntide as we’d go away together but it wd boil perhaps two or 3 Sundays. If you’d rather I could do 7.30 to 1.30 then I shouldnt miss lunch. Its an officers hospital in Chelsea it might be fun to try but if you thought it a great bore I wouldnt. I ought to let them know tonight so could you telephone to me. It doesnt matter if you’d like to talk it over. Perhaps that best.
Come home as early as you can.
I’m sorry to spring these horrors on you, dont give a definite answer.
Much love.
V.
