Context area

Archival history

Note on inside front cover: 'Hartwell Library. Bound July 1849'. Hartwell was the home of Dr. John Lee, whose bookplate is beneath this note; the label '55' pasted to the front cover may well be Lee's reference. A note in pencil suggests that the MS was 'probably by John Antonie'; John Lee inherited the papers of the Antonie family from his uncle William Lee Antonie.

Immediate source of acquisition or transfer

Bequeathed to the Library by William Aldis Wright, 1924 (as recorded by second bookplate on inside front cover).
