History
Amy Bonnet was born on 16 September 1876, the daughter of William (1839–90) and Sarah Bonnet (b. 1846/7). Her place of birth is variously given as Abergele, Towyn, and Fforyd, all in Denbighshire. In 1881 her father was station-master at Tattenhall near Chester and the family were living in the station-house. Her family evidently moved regularly, as her siblings were all born at different places. In 1901 Amy was living in Deptford with her younger brother Thomas and working as a shorthand clerk to a typewriter maker. She married R. B. McKerrow on 29 March 1915 at St Ethelburga’s church, Bishopsgate, and the couple had twin boys, Colin and Malcolm, born on 5 and 6 February 1919. She died at Picket Piece on 3 December 1945, and her funeral was held at Wendover on the 6th.
