D1/1 is attached to part of a paper guard, so was evidently once bound in a volume, but there is no reference to it in the indexes of the main series of Dawson Turner’s correspondence; perhaps it belongs with the papers of Sir Francis Palgrave (C). D1/3 does not appear to be the copy of that letter which was formerly in the main series of Turner’s correspond-ence (O.14.37).
