A letter from W. W. Rouse Ball to the Master of Trinity [J. J. Thomson], dated Apr. 1921, found at the beginning of O.12.54a, originally accompanied 'Wordsworth's three red books which are kept in the Lodge'. The date of the transfer of these volumes to the Library is uncertain.

Volume containing notes on matters relating to the college. Index to all three 'Red Book' volumes at front of the first volume, pp. v-xi.

Includes notes on corn rents in lieu of tithes of the parish of Barrington paid by the executors of Mr Pearce; Pigott's fund; subjects for academic exercises; extracts from statutes etc.
