Scope and content

Postmarked Dorking, addressed to ‘Mrs Trevelyan, The Shiffolds, Holmbury St Mary, Dorking’) . - Written 'In train'. Thanks Bessie for her 'kind invitation': would like to visit for a night in 'the later half of the month, when various upheavals connected with furniture should be over'. Is currently 'rather distracted', and has 'stupidly been rushed into broadcasting next Sunday - don't at all want to'.

Is 'amused' Bessie should 'assume that F. [perhaps Frances Farrer, due to replace him as tenant at West Hackhurst?] would get an interview by demanding it. Dear Bessie, you have no idea what a tough guy I can be on occasion'; will show her the rest of the correspondence. Sends love to her and Bob; looks forward to visiting soon, after the 15th.
