In camp, near Dhamarpuri, Salem; addressed to Caroline Trevelyan at Welcombe, Stratford on Avon, Warwickshire. - Has not time for a letter, since they are so 'far away in the jungle' that this has to go early to catch the mail. Having a very interesting time with the Collector of Salem, Mr [J.P.] Bedford, go to Trichinopoly and Madura on 24 January, then to Travancore for a few days, then to Ceylon; thinks they will leave Colombo for Java on 9 February.
