Extract from '3 Bulstrode': on the universities' legal power derived from royal charters and an Act of Parliament. Extract from 'Godbolt' and 'Jenkins': on the universities' privilege, under a special Act of Parliament, of holding plea according to the course of the Civil Law. Extract from Sir Matthew Hale's History of the Common Law: on the granting of a 'liberal Charter' to the University of Oxford . On the reference to 'the Oxford Charter fo Hen. VIII' in Blackstone's 'Comment', and the claims that a similar Charter was granted to Cambridge 'in the 3d. of Elizabeth.' Stamped with 'University Press Cambridge 29 Apr 81'.
