Expresses the wish that he could have come to Cambridge to see Sidgwick, but explains that he is 'rather heavily taxed' and 'can only afford 1_1 for the [Bowen].' Lists reasons as to why the British administration is 'infinitely better' than the Indian one. Sends him a copy of his lecture [not included]. Sends his regards to Mrs Sidgwick.
