The Committee, chaired by Sri Humayun Kabir MP, had been established in February 1966 to evaluate the work done by the ISI and advise on particular aspects of its activities. As a distinguished foreign visitor Synge was asked in September to give his comments on the ISI. The Committee submitted its report in December 1966.
