WW has this instant observed CT's letter to the Resident fellows: 'I suppose I must assure you, which I do in the most serious manner in which you can wish it, that I do not agree with any one who thinks there is any impropriety in your continuing a Fellow of Trinity College, and whatever may be my views with regard to the opinions expressed in your letter to Dr Turton ['A Letter to the Rev. Thomas Turton, on the Admission of Dissenters to Academical Degrees', 1834], they have not diminished the pleasure and satisfaction which I feel at your being a member of the brotherhood to which I belong myself'.
